Paul Burstow and Philippa Stroud have now both spoken at Nonsuch. What did you think about what they had to say? How do you think their campaigns in Sutton are going? Who do you think will win? Please post your comments below!
Paul to win any day. The most personable, genuine and constituency-orientated guy you could ever wish to meet. Philippa came across as defensive, false and had the feeling of using Sutton merely as a stepping stone to some higher position within the party.
I find Philippa to be very genuine and committed to making a difference both locally and nationally. Its hard to imagine that you found her false. She also seems to very active in the constituency.
I think Paul is by far the better candidate, you can tell he's so dedicated to the constituency, and he's a local guy. :) i also liked how he came on his own with his backpack, and then had to run off to get the train to Parliament for debates on an issue affecting his constituency! :D whereas Philippa came with an assistant and didn't come across as well as Paul did. I agree with Kathryn on this one!! Philippa is obviously ambitious, and with good reason, but i don't feel she really cares about Cheam too much, she just wants to become higher within the party. Good luck to her, but hopefully not as Cheam's MP.

As much as I have a dislike for the Conservative Party in general, I don't thik Philippa is that bad. She seems to care enough about the constituency to be able to represent it well as MP, even if she is very ambitious.
I think the votes will be quite close in Sutton and Cheam, honestly I'd like Paul to win he's a nice guy, very genuine, but I think Philippa would do...

ReplyDeletehahahahaha, i don't think she would be taking too kindly to some of the comments maybe...?
also do we not think she would be a little busy to be on our blog? maybe she's off somewhere in the constituency being active? who knows...
it's more likely to be Tom her assistant :P
i wonder what the Nonsuch HP verdict is on this one...?
ReplyDeletePaul to win! :D
