Select Committees

In today's 'Governing the UK' AS Politics lesson, a sheet was handed out detailing some excellent examples of how select committees have been successful in scrutinising and calling the government to account.

New parliamentary reforms brought in at the end of the last parliament have meant that select committee chairmen are to be elected by the House of Commons rather than chosen by the party whips.
