Eric Hobsbawm, the eminent 19th and 20th Century historian, died on Monday aged 95. He was known for his detailed, yet accessible works, but also for his political beliefs, remaining committed to Marxism long after the collapse of Communism in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union.
