Happy 4 July

Today is Independence Day in the USA, and to mark this, Fortune Magazine have come up with 100 American things worth celebrating. The list is pretty random. Number 1 is "opportunity", the interstate highway system is at 2 and the Sears Tower at 3. ESPN is at 6, Fedex trucks are at 7 and pickup trucks are at 11! The Bill of Rights only makes it to 17 (just behind duct tape), and the US armed forces limp in at 64...

The list is rather hard to comprehend from this UK perspective, and we presume is done slightly tongue in cheek, but even so is worth reading to get an idea of what America really finds important.

PS: What do you think should be on this list? Can you think of 100 British things worth celebrating - and which day should we celebrate them on?
